Introduction to the Physical Education Department

Year 7/8

 

Welcome to the Baradene College Physical Education Department. This year you will

 

·         develop skills and attitudes needed to maintain and improve your personal health and physical development.

·         develop motor skills through a wide range of activities

·         develop positive attitudes towards physical activity

·         develop skills and attitudes that improve your relationships with other people

·         participate in creating healthy environments.

 

Uniform

 

The PE uniform is compulsory for all students.

 

·         regulation Baradene College shirt or singlet

·         regulation shorts

·         non marking sports shoes (optional)

·         Swimming Togs and Cap (caps are available from the Sports Co-ordinator for $5.00)

·         On mufti days you will be expected to wear correct PE uniform

 

Participation

 

Participation is expected at all times. In exceptional circumstances where participation is impossible a note must be provided to your PE teacher.

 

Other expectations

 

·         the PE office and storerooms are out of bounds

·         respect all equipment

·         all valuable items should be given to your PE teacher at the start of the period.

 

Incorrect Uniform Procedures

 

A note needs to be given to your PE Teacher if you do not have the correct uniform

 

Non Participation

·         If you do not bring a note to explain your non participation your non participation will be recorded

 

·         A detention will be given if it occurs more than once

 

Notes:         When you have a note you may be asked to do written work or participate in the lesson in the best possible way. 

It does not mean you are allowed to do nothing!!

Aquatics

Large Ball Sports:  Netball, Non Contact Rugby Skills and Soccer

Minor Games

Artistic Gymnastics

Striking Skills:  Short Tennis, Softball and Cricket

Fitness

Athletics

Year A  (2011)

Large Ball Sports:  Basketball, Volleyball, Touch or Tag and Soccer

Minor Games

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Striking Skills:  Short Tennis, Badminton and Hockey

Fitness

Athletics
