Course Outline

We have an exciting year ahead of us in 2010. All students have the opportunity to explore Drama and Dance concepts and practice these throughout the year. The course is designed to build students’ self esteem, boost confidence, resiliency and promote teamwork. They will explore their creativity and ability to communicate through various games, projects and assessments.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the year the students are able to:
Apply dance and drama elements to extend their performance skills  
Select and use drama and dance elements to create and perform short plays and dances for an audience
Initiate and refine ideas with others to plan and develop drama and dance
Respond and investigate dance and drama in different contexts

Performance Opportunity

In addition, this year we have a wonderful opportunity to participate in 'JRock' which is a performing arts event incorporating dance, drama and design. This event provides New Zealand primary and intermediate school students with an opportunity to express their creativity through music and dance.
