CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH LEVEL 2

Description

This is a Level 2 English course that will concentrate on the study of modern literature and language used within a contemporary context. Students will study a novel, poetry, short stories, a drama script and film. Writing skills established at Level 1 will continue to be developed through creative and transactional tasks. The close reading of unfamiliar texts with an emphasis on techniques relating to reader/ writer purpose will also be developed. Students will complete a research project aimed at broadening their appreciation of literature. This project is a key competent for the students acquiring literacy credits for university entrance.

Prerequisites

English is a compulsory subject for all students at Level 2.
