Course Content
Jesus The Christ investigates various perspectives on Jesus from first century Palestine to the present day. Historical evidence, New Testament writings, the Creeds of the Early Church Councils, interpretations of Christ in the visual arts and ideas such as Liberation Theology are studied.
Sects, Cults and New Religious Movements identifies a variety of sects and cults and looks at the rapid proliferation of new religious groups in contemporary society. It considers why they are attracting so many people and looks at responses to them from a Catholic perspective.
Ethics - This course is in the process of development. It will look at the development of ethical systems and explore ways we, as Christians, can approach contemporary issues involving Human Dignity, Justice and New Technologies so that we may make the best possible choices.
