NCEA – Level 2

Course Outline
Students will be given the opportunity to gain Unit Standard in the Aural recall and several Achievement Standards in the following topics: Solo Performance, Group Performance, Composition in Classical style or Pop Song-writing style, Listening and Aural Skills, Score Reading, Instrumentation and demonstrate knowledge of Music Works by Western and New Zealand composers.

Students will be expected to be involved in a music group in the school.


Prerequisite

Preference will be given to students with a minimum of 15 credits in Level 1 Music and 24 credits in Level 1 Music credits are highly recommended.
Grade 5 or equivalent reached on the students' performance instrument is also desirable.

Leads to Level 3 Performance Music, Level 3 Music Studies.
