Qualification
NCEA – Level 3
Course Outline
Level 2 Contemporary Music aims to give students opportunity to develop knowledge of New Zealand music industry and business through research, song writing and arranging, develop music composition skills and cross-curriculum connections between Drama and Media study. Develop skills in performance, basic sound/audio engineering and recording, editing and mixing.

Students will be given the opportunity to gain Unit Standard.

Prerequisites
1. NCEA Level 1 Music
2. Knowing how to play an instrument and have had itinerant music lesson for least 4 years
3. Knowledge of theory up to Grade 5 level
