College Financial Contributions for 2012
Baradene College Limited is the Proprietor of the College and responsible for the collection of the Parent Financial Contributions.
Financial Contributions
The Contributions listed here show the GST exempt portion which qualifies for the Donation Income Tax Rebate. A Donation Tax Receipt is available from the Executive Officer on request.
The Dues identified as being GST inclusive are based on the present level of GST of 15% and are subject to change by Government. This portion does not qualify for the Donation Income Tax Rebate.
The first member of each family attending the College pays the full Financial Contribution (Junior/Senior Contribution). There is a discount of 5% for the second member of one family attending the College at the same time and, for the third and subsequent members of one family attending the College at the same time, there is a discount of 10% of the Financial Contribution. This discount does not apply to Attendance Dues, Activity Fees, or Camp Charges.
Baradene College Special Character contributions are incorporated in the Senior and Junior Contributions.
The Proprietor has adopted a policy that all entrants should pay the College Contributions in advance. Apart from the financial aspects of prepayment, the advance payment ensures that parents will advise the College by at least one term if they propose to withdraw their daughter from the College. The first term entry amount is not refundable unless the student’s parents unexpectedly transfer or leave Auckland.
Attendance Dues
Attendance Dues (including GST) for 2012 are $186.50 per term for Seniors and $95.00 for Juniors. The Ministry of Education approves the rate of Attendance Dues under Section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 in respect of the groups of schools forming part of the Diocese of Auckland Common Fund. The Attendance Dues are paid to the Auckland Common Fund and must be applied to the group of schools solely for authorised purposes under Section 36, of the Act.
Activity Fees
The Activity Fees are $220.00 (GST exempt) per term. These fees are used in the general operation of the College as a necessary supplement to the Operating Grant received from the Government.
Information Technology
The Board of Trustees Strategic Plan requires considerable ongoing expenditure on IT to support teaching and learning across the College. The amount of $80 (GST exempt) per term assists with the timely implementation of this important strategic objective.
College Magazine
The College Magazine is based on one per student and charged at $30.00 (plus GST) in Term 3. The Board of Trustees sets this cost.
School Camps
The Annual Camp charges for 2012 will be: $252.00 for Years 7/8 (invoiced Term 1); $343.00 for Year 9 (invoiced Term 1); and $380.00 for Year 10 (invoiced Term 4).
Parent Teacher Association Levy
The Parent Teacher Association annual subscription of $10.00 per family is collected on behalf of the PTA.
Master Development Plan
The construction of the Art, Science and Technology Centre (Barat Building) has been completed as part of the continuing development of the College and as scheduled in the Master Plan.
Detailed planning has commenced for the retrofitting of Duchesne building as proposed in the Master Plan.
The Parent Financial Contributions provide for the Special Character Programme within the College and assist in the repayment of bank loans which have been committed for the capital works and the new developments scheduled in the Master Plan.
Financial Contributions requested from parents may be revised from time to time in the light of rising costs. The College reserves the right to make any such revisions during the year after advising parents.
