The Baradene Parent Teacher Association is an active group of willing parents prepared to get stuck in. Its primary function is to promote community spirit among the school staff, Board of Trustees and parents – and have some fun along the way!
Equally important is its fundraising role. Each year Baradene parents fundraise to support a wide variety of projects for the school and in these challenging economic times, community support becomes even more important.
To achieve this we need you!
The PTA is a valuable link to your daughters’ school and will help you to forge relationships with other parents and teachers in the community. There’s the old saying
‘it takes a village to raise a child’ – join the Baradene PTA and make it part of your village.
The meetings are on the third Monday of every month from 7.30pm - 9.00pm in the Staff Room. Go in through Gate 1 to the end of the driveway to the Duchesne Building and up the big staircase – the doors are open from 7pm –
everyone is welcome!
April Update
At our recent AGM we recognised the community support of our fundraising efforts, PTA’s contribution to the school over the past 12 month exceeds $60,000 and includes:

$25,000 to the Board of Trustees to be used in areas deemed a priority

Tables and chairs for the O’Neill Gallery in the Barat building

Table tennis tables, netball hoops, and veggie gardens for the Year 7/8 area

Staff scholarships

Pastoral care fund - increased this year

Outdoor bench seating

Year 13 student scholarship

Fundraising Projects for 2012 – we are always looking for new and interesting ideas to raise funds for the school. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please contact Chairperson, Julia Doak on julia@bedpost.co.nz or better still, come to one of our meetings! And, or course, we also rely on our tried and tested events.
Second Hand Uniforms – Uniforms in good condition are urgently needed! If you have uniforms that are still in reasonable condition, dry-cleaned, can you please contact Kathy Moore on 579 7777, or the school.
We give reasonable prices for uniforms in good condition as well as providing a valuable option for families to meet uniform requirements.
White shirts in good condition will be accepted but as a donation only.
