Welcome to Spanish
It is estimated that the combined total number of Spanish speakers is between 470 and 500 million, making it the second most-widely spoken language in terms of native speakers.
FROM THE MEXICO TRIP!

We have arrived in Mexico after 2 very long but interesting flights. The girls are quite tired. We eventually arrived to be met by our tour guide -Gabrielle. He suggested we change money at the airport - what a long process... We finally arrived at theschool after midnight and all the parents just swept the girls up (You greet with a hug and a kiss ) and took them home.
El Colegio Sagrado Corazon (Sacred Heart College) feels so like Baradene although the grounds are quite small but beautifully looked after. They even have a picture of Mater Admirablis in a side chapel. We spent today, Thursday, at school. The girls presented and tried their Spanish on the Assembly. We sang a song in Maori and finished with the Maori version of the National Anthem. Then we toured the school -we all wanted to take the 5 and 6 year olds home with us, they were soooooo cute. The Art teacher practised her English on us and explained the huge pyramids we are going to visit tomorrow.
At lunch time they started to play an international game of soccer, but the lunch arrived before there was any goal.
The school and staff have been very generous towards us and we have felt cared for and loved. All girls seem happy with their new parents and we know of at least one staff member who does not want to come back to NZ !!
Having lots of trouble trying to upload photos - Try again tomorow
