Career Plan Booklets:
As a Year 12 student you will be involved in a range of Careers activities to help you identify career interests and options so that you are better prepared for your future transition from school to study or work situations. You will research several job options, become familiar with study requirements and be expected to develop a plan of action as part of lifelong career development skills. You will be expected to:
- complete the “Career Plan” booklets (7 credits at Level 2) Deadline end of Term 1:
Everyone is expected to have completed their Workbook . You should also attach to your booklet your CareerQuest results, "Investigate A Job" sheet and evidence of sources of information (part of the booklet requirement).
Please Note - Help Available:
- use your Resource Booklet - it offers advice, information and spaces for completing work that can be transferred into your Careers Booklet
- Career Leaders in each Year 12 class have been trained to help you during Home Room time. Ask them to help you and check on your work to ensure you are on the right track.
- Ms Lorimer and Mrs Brittain will be available in D325 every Tuesday lunchtime to offer help and advice.
A Guide to Your Progress:
By Wednesday 22nd February you should have completed:
Career Explorations p 10 -12 and Explore a Learning Area p 16 - 18
Work Experience/ WorkChoice Day - May 15th -
All Year 12 students are expected to find a work placement for this day in a career area of your choice. Choose a career area that you are very interested in. This is likely to be one you studied in your Career Booklet. Start networking to find a place to work. You may need to appraoch many people in many companies and/or organisations to find the work situation you want. Remember you may not get a placement in the work situaiton of a parent. Start soon to ensure you find the work situaiton you want. Good luck!
