Welcome to cycling at Baradene
Cycling at Baradene continues to grow both in numbers and in achievements, with the club now establishing itself as one of the leading girls' schools in Secondary School cycling.
With the continued services of Paul Leitch, a former Commonwealth and Olympic games cyclist, as Head Coach along with a group of enthusiastic and dedicated parents to assist in coaching, admin and general support roles, the club is developing a great culture for having fun, developing skills and reaching potential in a demanding but highly enjoyable sport.
The various trips away to regional and national events, plus camps during the year ensure a great variety of activity with lifelong memories quickly developing. The club openly welcomes new riders and we would love to see you along for Spin classes, training rides and/or Team Time Trial racing.
The racing programme is typically from May through to September (Terms 2 and 3) with a 7 race Team Time Trial series along Auckland’s waterfront providing regular competition, interspersed with various regional and national competitions.
Time requirements can vary but typically involve a weekly Spin Class on Tuesday afternoons, team rides on Thursday mornings before school, and squad rides and/or racing on Saturday and Sunday.
