The Symphonic Band is our feeder group for the Baradene Concert Band, but much more than that! It enjoys a successful combination of exciting classical concert band pieces as well as pop-rock repertoire. The band performs at school events, as well as inter-school competitions such as the KBB Music Festival. Symphonic Band students also share their music at their annual Primary School Music Tour. The band is for players from all year levels.

Cost: | Covered by the $200 All Comers Music Group fee. |
Rehearsals: | Tuesdays 7.20am - 8.30am in the Music Department. |
Commitment: | The students are expected to make a regular commitment to rehearsals, performances and concerts and to practice at home. |
Director: | Ms Angela Mote-Andrews Angela is a multi-instrumental (flute, saxophone, clarinet) performer and teacher. She has a Bachelor of Music (New Zealand School of Music) in classical performance flute with saxophone as a second instrument. In 2023 she was awarded a Secondary Teachers Study Award and completed her Honours degree in composition, writing and performing pieces with western instruments and taonga puoro. She recently moved to Tamaki Makaurau-Auckland from Otautahi-Christchurch and is enjoying teaching a varied program of ensemble and woodwind instruments. [email protected] |
