The Symphonic Band is our feeder group for the Senior Concert Band, but much more than that! It enjoys a successful combination of exciting classical concert band pieces as well as pop-rock repertoire. The band performs at school events, as well as inter-school competitions such as KBB Music Festival. Symphonic Band girls also share their music at their annual Primary School Music Tour.

Rehearsals: | Tuesdays 7.30am - 8.30am in the Music Block. |
Commitment: | The students are expected to make a regular commitment to rehearsals, performances and concerts and to practice at home. |
Director: | Mr Tavite Tonga Tavite has been playing the trombone for 12 years. He is studying towards a BMus in Classical Performance and a BA in Criminology at the University of Auckland. He has performed with the Auckland Youth Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Auckland Choral and Auckland City Brass. Alongside performing and studying, he is also an active teacher in the wider Auckland area. [email protected] |
