The Careers Department at Baradene College aims to provide students with strategies that will equip them to plan and manage their learning and career pathways at school and beyond. This learning will reflect the qualities, competencies and values gained in the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga Aotearoa.   

Career education and guidance is a central element of Baradene College’s rich, special and balanced education.

The Careers Department is led by Karen Lorimer and is supported by Susanna Brittain and Gaylene Maynard

Students are supported in the following areas:

1. Assisted to make decisions to make a successful transition from school to further education or work.

2. Help to equip students to develop their career management competencies both in the short term and throughout their lives.

3. Classroom teaching will reinforce and develop an awareness of student future career needs in their future world of work.
