2021 College Financial Contributions
PARENT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
Baradene College Limited is the Proprietor of the College and is responsible for the collection of Parent Financial Contributions which includes College and Junior or Senior Contributions.
GST exempt contributions are authorised by the Education and Training Act 2020 and qualify for the Donations Income tax Rebate. A Donation Tax Receipt will be automatically posted out at the end of the Financial Year but is also available on request.
GST inclusive contributions are authorised by the Education and Training Act 2020 and subject to GST at the current rate of 15% (subject to change by Government). These amounts do not qualify for the Donation Income Tax Rebate.
The first member of each family attending the College pays the full Financial Contribution (i.e. either Junior or Senior Contribution). There is a discount of 5% for the second member of one family attending the College at the same time and, for the third and subsequent members of one family attending the College at the same time, there is a discount of 10%. This discount does not apply to Attendance Dues, College Contributions, or Camp Charges.
The Boards of Baradene College have approved an increase equal to 1% of the Parent Financial Contributions for 2021.
Attendance Dues (including GST) have been increased to $222.00 per Term for senior students and $113.00 per Term for juniors. The Minister of Education approves the rate of Attendance Dues under terms of the Education and Training Act 2020 in respect of the groups of schools forming part of the Diocese of Auckland Common Fund. The Attendance Dues are paid to the Auckland Common Fund and must be applied to the group of schools solely for authorised purposes under the Education and Training Act 2020.
Junior and Senior Contributions
The Junior and Senior Contributions provide for the Special Character Programme within the College, assist in the repayment of bank loans committed to by the Proprietor as part of the new developments scheduled in the Master Campus Plan, and for general capital works around the College.
The College Contribution is $351.50 (GST exempt) per Term. This Contribution is to cover extra resources for the benefit of students including additional staffing, curriculum resources, information technology and co-curricular activities.
The charge for the College Magazine of $40.00 (incl GST) in Term 3 is based on one per family. This cost is set by the Baradene College Board of Trustees.
The Camp Contribution for 2021 are $355.00 for Year 8 and $435.00 for Year 10. These contributions are GST exempt.
Parent Teacher Association Levy
The annual contribution of $10.00 per family is collected on behalf of the PTA.
A one-off contribution of $50.00 is collected from each Year 13 student on behalf of the Alumnae Association. This is for lifetime membership of the Association.
Master Development Plan
A Master Development Plan is subject to ongoing review to provide quality teaching and learning facilities for the students and to ensure future projects following the Music Sports and Infrastructure Project are appropriately co-ordinated and prioritised. Parent Financial Contributions requested from parents may be revised from time to time in the light of rising costs. The Boards reserve the right to make any such revisions during the year after advising parents.
