Baradene College Attendance Management Plan

Attendance plays a vital role in students’ achievement, wellbeing, and sense of belonging at school. When students are regularly present, they learn more effectively, stay connected socially, and feel part of our school community.

In line with Ministry of Education requirements, our school is publishing our Attendance Management Plan, aligned with national expectations and the Stepped Attendance Response (STAR) framework. This plan outlines how we will monitor attendance, respond early to concerns, and work in partnership with whānau to support students to be at school and engaged in learning.

We understand that illness, family circumstances, and important events do arise. When these situations occur, we encourage families to communicate with us so we can support students appropriately. We also encourage, where possible, to plan leave and travel outside term time, as regular attendance helps maintain continuity in learning and social connection.

Key expectations, processes, and supports will be published on our website. Our goal is simple: to work together to help every student feel present, supported, and set up for success.
