Anna Dunwoodie BMus (Perf), DipTchg, DipChLit
Anna is an experienced harp teacher, freelance performer and composer. She teaches classical, contemporary and traditional harp and prepares students for Trinity Guildhall examinations. Trained in pedal harp under Rebecca Harris, School of Music, Auckland University (1991-93), Secondary Music and English trained, Auckland College of Education (1994), Private Harp and Theory teaching (since 1995) from home based studio, Sunderland College (2007-9), St Kentigern's College (2009-), St Cuthberts College (2010-), Diocesan School for Girls (2013-) where students can prepare to be examined in Trinity Guildhall harp and theory exams. Active in New Zealand harp and traditional music scene - Editor of New Zealand Harp Society journal (three times a year), organises harp events, workshop weekends, Harpenz, Gaidhealtachd harp tutor (1999-2013), organises visits and lessons from touring international harpers, soloist and plays with ensembles, guest at Edward Bunting Harp Festival, Ireland (2007), Hatton Castle Music Festival, Scotland (2009), organiser of the annual Auckland Folk Festival Next Generation Concert, annual Titirangi Folk Music Club Young Performers Showcase, annual Titirangi Folk Music Club Mixed Generation Showcase (aptly named “One Old/One New), currently gigging and recording ‘Celtic Harp and Scottish Smallpipes’ with Shane Stewart.
