"For the sake of one child"
2025 was the centenary year of the canonisation of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, and we were delighted to launch the RSCJ Scholarship Fund, with the 2025 Giving Week raising funds for a new Sister Elizabeth Snedden Scholarship.
“For the sake of one child”, Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart. These words continue to reflect the mission and educational philosophy of the Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ) - that every student should be educated to reach their unique potential; empowered, confident, and with a sense of social responsibility - regardless of their financial circumstances.
The Sister Elizabeth Snedden Scholarship
Sister Elizabeth Snedden RSCJ has made an immense contribution to Baradene as an alumna, teacher, long-serving trustee on the Baradene School Board, and director of Baradene College Limited.
This scholarship is for a purpose close to Sister Elizabeth’s heart - to provide financial assistance to students in our community who would otherwise be unable to attend Baradene or to fully participate in school life while enrolled, giving them every opportunity to benefit from a Baradene education.
Our students are incredibly fortunate. A Baradene education equips students to meet the challenges of our rapidly changing world and to succeed as global citizens.
Our 2025 Giving Week was an opportunity for our community to continue the legacy of the RSCJ and make a difference in a child's future.
