What a fabulous Nationals campaign for our swimmers! Nine of our top swimmers competed for Baradene in the New Zealand Secondary School Swimming Championships in Hamilton last weekend. They all raced brilliantly, with many medals won, College records broken and PB’s earned.

Baradene came away as the 3rd Top Girls School and 11th overall out of a total of 123 competing schools.

We say a huge congratulations to our medal winners and our top 10 place-getters:

3 of our swimmers (Trelise, Lanihei and Isabelle) also all reached the standard which enables them to apply for a place on the Swimming NZ National programme for the 2020-2021 season. This is a real achievement and we wish them all the best with the next step. Amelia has also been invited to apply having just missed the standard by .3s. We wish them well with this.

Thanks must go to Jasmine Connolly and Jodi Brooks for managing the team at Nationals. And finally, we thank our code captain, Sarah Brooks, for all her support of the swimming team, not just this year but for all her time at Baradene.
